Dear friends, we returned from Mexico a few days ago and it was a wonderful experience. 7 people, for 2 weeks, welcomed by our PIME confreres, missionaries in Ayutla de Los Libres and La Concordia, and by the Franciscan Sisters of Saint Joseph in Mexico City.
The young people who threw themselves into this experience are Angela, Ornella, Bonnie, Patrick, Todd and Sebastian. It wasn’t always easy to share everything, in simplicity, without knowing each other beforehand.
Almost all of them had only met with me a few times, and among themselves only once. And yet it worked: everyone stepped up and adapted to the new world that welcomed us. Some didn’t think they were capable, yet they made it!
Mission allows us to change our perspective, to step into the shoes of people whose existence we were unaware of until the day before, to get to know and appreciate one another, to build bonds and friendships. I
n short, it pushes us out of our comfort zone and helps us grow. I wish you a similar experience for this period of rest and holiday, and I do so with the faces of so many people met and the vivid colors of this incredible country. Have a great month of August, a big embrace
