The Presentation of the Virgin Mary Sisters intend to establish the “Dedza Farm”, an agri-food center created to support orphaned children, young people, and vulnerable elderly members of the community. The farm aims to create a self-sufficient agricultural enterprise that generates income while improving food security, economic empowerment, and community development. The project is in line with the sisters’ broader mission in education, health, and social care, ensuring that the proceeds from the agricultural activities support the community, the enterprise itself, and the poor. While waiting for Sister Blandina to arrive in Italy, spazio + spadoni welcomes and evaluates the project proposal in order to explore it in greater depth with the sister upon her arrival. Sister Blandina arrived in Firenzuola in the final days of August 2025. All the members of Fondazione RSA SS. Annunziata who welcomed her worked to ensure that she could receive comprehensive training that she could put to use upon returning to Malawi. Meanwhile, Luigi Spadoni met in Rome with the Bishop of Dedza, the diocese where Sister Blandina lives, to coordinate the sister’s commitment to spreading the Works of Mercy and to establish a diocesan office specifically dedicated to this.
