OPERA M is a revolution in the works of mercy. It is a permanent tool for fostering a strong and renewed vision of these works throughout the world.
Spazio + Spadoni’s reEvolution stems from a deeply felt urgency to redefine the concept of works of mercy as a journey that is always both human and divine at the same time—and therefore always spiritual as well as practical (or physical). The rediscovery—indeed, the true reEvolution—of these works must be found within this synthesis of the spiritual aspect and the practical act. Material action must always be imbued with the spirit.
OPERA M is based on five actions that define its method: INVOKE, call upon the Spirit LISTEN, make silence to open yourself to listening MEET, stand among the people LET’S WORK, act for the works LET’S FLOOD, bring everyone to the Works of Mercy Spiritual Works of Mercy To counsel the doubtful To instruct the ignorant To admonish sinners To comfort the afflicted To forgive offenses To bear patiently with troublesome people To pray to God for the living and the dead Corporal Works of Mercy To feed the hungry To give drink to the thirsty To clothe the naked To shelter travelers To visit the sick To visit the imprisoned To bury the dead

October | Start of planning
The meeting between Luigi Spadoni and H.E. Msgr. Bonaventure Nahimana, Archbishop of Gitega, marked the start of the collaboration between the Burundian Diocese and spazio + spadoni, focused in particular on supporting the many widows who are in Gitega and who are gathered in an Association called AVEM.
15 November | OPERA M and project
Father Boniface Kwitonda and the head of the AVEM group, Bernadette, gathered some widows to start the goat distribution project
17 November | First bank transfer made
The funding is partly intended for the purchase of goats for the widows and partly to support the medical expenses of about 250 widows
3 December | Training
Meeting in the Cathedral to present spazio + spadoni and the commitment to the Works of Mercy
8 December | Goat delivery
The first goats purchased are donated to 30 widows

7 January | Training
“We are in the Parish of Maramvya, in the Archdiocese of Gitega. Here we had the joy of gathering 109 widows for a training meeting, designed to strengthen them and encourage them to stay united. During the meeting, we presented the OPERA M project to them, illustrating the seven corporal and spiritual works of mercy. We also introduced spazio + spadoni and its mission of mercy. The widows expressed great gratitude to our bishop for his dedication and to spazio + spadoni for this wonderful and timely initiative. They felt a deep need for support in order to, in turn, accompany other women through catechesis on concrete Works of Mercy. With great emotion and joy, they agreed to join this beautiful and promising movement”
14 January | Second bank transfer made
The funding is intended for the purchase of more goats to be distributed to the widows
18 January | Training
Training on the reEvolution of the Works of Mercy in the Parish of Magarama and delivery of the scarves
17 March | Diocesan Meeting
All the widows gathered and spent a day dedicated to the Works of Mercy, deepening the commitment of spazio + spadoni to spreading knowledge. At the end, the spazio + spadoni scarf was delivered.
