The Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena was founded in <strong>1942 <\/strong>by<strong> Bishop Constant-Robert Lagae<\/strong>, then Apostolic Vicar of Niangara (1924-1948). It was born from a sudden inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The sisters have embraced the spirit of the Founder: \u201cLet us work in the Light of the Lord\u201d. The Institute was built on a miracle of God\u2019s love and on the faith of the Dominican Sisters of Namur. Sister Rose Pinpester, a Dominican missionary from Namur, is in fact considered the co-foundress of the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena of Isiro-Niangara. Bishop Lagae entrusted her with responsibility for the new congregation. As it developed, the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena of Isiro-Niangara asked to be incorporated into the Dominican Order. The sisters are present in several dioceses of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Isiro-Niangara, Dungu-Doruma, Kisangani, Kinshasa, Kisantu); in addition, some of them study in Italy and Belgium.         <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"charism\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Charism<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charism is expressed in the <strong>sanctification of the members through the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obedience<\/strong>.
