{"id":60340,"date":"2026-05-20T09:48:23","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T08:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spaziospadoni.org\/congregations\/congregazione-delle-suore-del-sacro-cuore-di-gesu-di-ragusa\/"},"modified":"2026-07-18T11:44:29","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T10:44:29","slug":"congregation-of-the-sisters-of-the-sacred-heart-of-jesus-of-ragusa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/spaziospadoni.org\/en\/congregations\/congregation-of-the-sisters-of-the-sacred-heart-of-jesus-of-ragusa\/","title":{"rendered":"Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Ragusa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Ragusa was founded by Mother Maria Schinin\u00e0 in 1889 to help those marginalized by Ragusa society: children, the elderly, the sick and prisoners, in whom she saw Jesus poor and abandoned.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/spaziospadoni.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Logo-Congregazione.png\" alt=\"Congregation of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Ragusa\" class=\"wp-image-46298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spaziospadoni.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Logo-Congregazione.png 225w, https:\/\/spaziospadoni.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Logo-Congregazione-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to Italy, the Congregation is present in Europe (Romania), Africa (Nigeria and Madagascar), Asia (India and the Philippines), and America (the United States and Canada).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Generalate is located in Rome (La Storta), at Via Cassia 1714, near the Vatican, and belongs to the Diocese of Porto Santa\u2013Rufina. The Mother General, her Council and several Sisters reside there permanently. In addition to its activities for the Institute, the Congregation is also involved in parish activities.<br\/>The House is open to all the Sisters. Spiritual exercises, ongoing formation courses and particularly intense experiences of community life are held there.<br\/>For this reason, the building was enlarged and extended between 1995 and 1998 with the construction of two new floors and a chapel dedicated to the Heart of Christ, according to the spirituality of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Ragusa, in honour of Blessed Maria Schinin\u00e0.<br\/>It was consecrated on 7 October 1998 by His Most Reverend Excellency Bishop Antonio Buoncristiani and, beneath the altar, in a Capodimonte casket sealed with the Institute\u2019s stamp, are kept the sacred ex ossibus Relics of the Foundress, of S. Teresa del Bambino Ges\u00f9 and of Blessed Maria di Ges\u00f9 Crocifisso (Carmelite), together with their certificates of authenticity.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"charism\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Charism<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charism, a gift of the Holy Spirit to Mother Maria Schinin\u00e0, seeks to be a concrete expression of Love and Reparation to the heart of Jesus, abandoned and thirsty on the Cross, through <strong>special concern for the poor and needy<\/strong>.
