It will bring together friends and volunteers not only from Italy but also from Africa and Asia, with whom practical tools for the dissemination of the works will be developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-sixth-corporal-work-of-mercy-is-visiting-the-prisoners\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The sixth corporal Work of Mercy is \u201cvisiting the prisoners\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biblical scholar points out that whoever performs this work is similar to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God, who \u201cdoes not despise his captive people\u201d (Ps 69:33), \u201cleads out the prisoners with singing\u201d (Ps 68:6), \u201csets prisoners free\u201d (Ps 146:7), \u201crestored the fortunes of Zion\u201d (Ps 126:1), \u201cbring my soul out of prison\u201d (Ps 142:7). Peter \u201cdescribed how the Lord had brought him out of prison\u201d (Acts 12:17).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jesus, who came \u201cto proclaim freedom for the prisoners\u2026 to set the oppressed free\u201d (Lk 4:18; cf. Is 61:1; 42:7; 49:9): \u201cThis is why it says: \u00abWhen he ascended on high, he took many captives\u00bb\u201d (Eph 4:8; cf. Ps 68:18).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The good Samaritans who, in the time of Ahaz, king of Judah, \u201cprovided for the captives; they clothed all who were naked from the plunder, gave them clothes and sandals, food and drink, and healing balm. All those who were weak they put on donkeys and brought them to their fellow Israelites at Jericho, the City of Palms, and then returned to Samaria\u201d (2 Chr 28:15).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-biblical-scholar-also-reminds-us-that-whoever-visits-prisoners-listens-to-the-word-of-god\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The biblical scholar also reminds us that whoever visits prisoners listens to the Word of God<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are a few excerpts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cYou suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions\u201d (Heb 10:34).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cContinue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering\u201d (Heb 13:3).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the conclusion of this work, the biblical scholar leaves us with a provocation, an inquiry: do we know how to be \u201cfishers of men\u201d (Mk 1:17), recognizing those who care for prisoners and announcing to them the beatitude of Mercy that states \u201cBlessed are the merciful\u201d (Mt 5:7)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-works-belong-to-everyone-in-everyone-and-for-everyone\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Works belong to everyone, in everyone, and for everyone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Works belong to everyone, in everyone, and for everyone. spazio + spadoni is committed to expressing forcefully the deep meaning contained in this thought, so that every ear may hear and translate it into mindful action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Universalizing the Works also means cooperating in the proclamation of the Good News through the tangible reality of love in the many countries around the world where spazio + spadoni already operates and where it has not yet arrived. But not only that!
