During the meetings starting Monday, July 17, 2023, we will discuss all the works with our gathering friends and seek suitable tools for their dissemination across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-second-spiritual-work-of-mercy-is-instructing-the-ignorant\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The second spiritual Work of Mercy is \u00abinstructing the ignorant\u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biblist points out that whoever performs this work is similar to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>God<\/strong>, who \u00abteaches mankind knowledge\u00bb (Ps 94:10); \u00abteaches the humble his way\u00bb (Ps 25:9); \u00abYour decrees are very trustworthy\u00bb (Ps 93:5); \u00abI have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes\u2026 Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart\u2026 Your statutes are always righteous\u00bb (Ps 119:99, 111, 144); \u00abMany and great teachings have been given to us through the Law, the Prophets, and the other books that followed\u00bb (Sir 1:1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jesus<\/strong>, who \u00abtaught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes\u00bb (Mt 7:29); \u00abHe taught in their synagogues\u00bb (Lk 4:15); \u00abI have always taught in a synagogue or at the temple\u00bb (Jn 18:20); \u00abYou taught in our streets\u00bb (Lk 13:26); \u00abThese are the words of him who is\u2026 the Amen, the faithful and true witness\u00bb (Rev 2:8, 12, 18; 3:1, 7, 14).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Apostles<\/strong>: \u00abThe apostles gathered around Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught\u00bb (Mk 6:30); \u00abFor it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you\u00bb (Mt 10:20).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>John the Baptist<\/strong>: \u00abJohn taught his disciples\u00bb (Lk 11:1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Prophets<\/strong>. Moses: \u00abSpeak to the Israelites and say to them\u00bb (Ex 31:13; Lev 1:2; 6:18; 7:23, 29; 17:2; 18:2; 19:2; 23:2, 10, 24, 34; 24:15; 26:2\u2026); David: \u00abThe Spirit of the Lord spoke through me; his word was on my tongue\u00bb (2 Sam 23:2-3); Jeremiah (Jer 13:13, 15; 23:38; 34:2; 35:2\u2026), Ezekiel (Ezek 3:1, 11; 11:5; 14:4; 17:2; 20:3\u2026); Haggai (Hag 1:2; 2:2, 21), Zechariah (Zech 1:3; 7:5; 11:4).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-biblist-also-reminds-us-that-whoever-instructs-the-ignorant-listens-to-the-word-of-god\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The biblist also reminds us that whoever instructs the ignorant listens to the Word of God<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are some excerpts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00abSpeak, elder, for it is your privilege, but with sound knowledge, and do not interrupt the music\u00bb (Sir 32:3).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abIf anyone loves righteousness\u2026 she teaches temperance and prudence, justice and courage, than which nothing is more profitable to human life\u00bb (Wis 8:7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abYou, however, must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine\u00bb (Tit 2:1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abThe grace of God\u2026 teaches us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age\u00bb (Tit 2:11-12).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abThe one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort\u00bb (1 Cor 14:3-4).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abIf serving, let us serve; if teaching, in the teaching\u00bb (Rom 12:7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abWhoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God\u00bb (1 Pet 4:11).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00abGod has appointed in the church\u2026 teachers\u00bb (1 Cor 12:28; cf. Eph 4:11).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biblist leaves us at the conclusion of this work with a stirring question: do we know how to be \u00abfishers of men\u00bb (Mk 1:17), recognizing those who teach our brothers and sisters and proclaiming to them the beatitude of Mercy: \u00abBlessed are the merciful\u00bb (Mt 5:7)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"knowing-is-freedom\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Knowing is freedom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowledge is a condition that enables us to be free and responsible persons; indeed, whenever there is an attempt to curtail the freedom of an individual or a community, efforts are made to keep them away from the knowledge of truth. At the same time, a lack of understanding causes people profound suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The word \u00abignorant\u00bb, which strictly means \u00abone who does not know\u00bb, often bears a very negative connotation in society. Human questions and yearnings express deep anguish and solitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We therefore realize the crucial role played by educators, teachers, catechists, and parents. In 2023, she returned to missionary work with the Sorelle di Santa Gemma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she remained for three months.
