These insights take place in the context of the gathering being held in Lucca, aimed at producing practical tools to spread the works throughout the world, particularly wherever spazio + spadoni is active with the HIC SUM projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"the-sixth-spiritual-work-of-mercy-is-bearing-patiently-with-troublesome-people\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The sixth spiritual Work of Mercy is \u201cbearing patiently with troublesome people\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biblical scholar points out that whoever carries out this work is akin to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>God:<\/strong> \u201cHave I not held my peace and closed my eyes?\u201d (Is 57:11); \u201cIs the patience of the Lord exhausted?\u201d (Mic 2:7); \u201cOr do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God\u2019s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?\u201d (Rom 2:4); \u201cThe Lord is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance\u201d (2 Pet 3:9); \u201cGod bore with great patience the objects of his wrath\u201d (Rom 9:22; cf. 3:25-26).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> \u201cMay the Lord direct your hearts into God\u2019s love and Christ\u2019s perseverance\u201d (2 Thess 3:5).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Prophets:<\/strong> \u201cBrothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord\u201d (Jas 5:10).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Job:<\/strong> \u201cAs you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job\u2019s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about\u201d (Jas 5:11).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"whoever-patiently-bears-with-troublesome-people-listens-to-the-word-of-god\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Whoever patiently bears with troublesome people listens to the Word of God<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are some excerpts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cA quick-tempered person does foolish things, but the one who reflects remains patient\u201d (Prov 14:17).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWoe to you who have lost your patience; what will you do when the Lord comes to reckon with you?\u201d (Sir 2:14).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience\u201d (Gal 5:22).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe testing of your faith produces perseverance\u201d (Jas 1:3-4).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWe also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character\u201d (Rom 5:3).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWe who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak\u201d (Rom 15:1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with one another in love\u201d (Eph 4:1-2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cClothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience\u201d (Col 3:12).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cPursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness\u201d (1 Tim 6:11).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cYou, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance\u201d (2 Tim 3:10).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cTeach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance\u201d (Tit 2:2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cLove always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres\u201d (1 Cor 13:7).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biblical scholar concludes this work with a challenging question: do we know how to be \u201cfishers of men\u201d (Mk 1:17), recognizing those who practice patience and proclaiming to them the beatitude of Mercy: \u201cBlessed are the merciful\u201d (Mt 5:7)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"patience-is-the-virtue-of-the-strong\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Patience is the virtue of the strong<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This work is the only one to incorporate an adverb, \u201cpatiently,\u201d signifying duration and continuity, \u201cfor a prolonged time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patience and meekness were central teachings of Jesus: \u201cIf anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. In 2023, she returned to missionary work with the Sorelle di Santa Gemma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she remained for three months. In 2024, she spent one month in Ivory Coast, once again at one of the missions of the Sorelle di Santa Gemma.
