Seed of Mercy
The water in the glass is happy to transform itself into energy, and joyfully awaits those who are thirsty, and the thirst of my God becomes a light of mercy.
TODAY'S SAINT
Saint Valeria of Milan
Every day the Church celebrates the journey of men and women who have been able to make the mercy of God through concrete gestures of love and service.
Saint Valeria of Milan, along with the other saints remembered today, Tuesday, April 28, shows us that holiness comes from small things lived with a big heart. Meditating on the saint of the day helps us recognize that mercy is the path that transforms everyday life into a gift, and invites us to follow her example in our own time.
TODAY'S GOSPEL
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 10,22-30
In those days, the feast of the Dedication was celebrated in Jerusalem.
It was winter. Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's portico. Then the Jews gathered around him and said to him,
"How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."
Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness about me.
But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life and they will not be lost forever and nobody will tear them from my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."
Comments on today's Gospel
Commentary on the Gospel by Father Giordano Favillini
I give my sheep eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
Those who choose to believe in Jesus belong to Him forever, and this gives them great confidence that gives them the strength to face all the situations that life throws at them.
