Seed of Mercy
Every morning I nourish myself with the eyes of my soul turned to your face of light, O Father, light of mercy in your love.
TODAY'S SAINT
Saint Joseph the Worker
Every day the Church celebrates the journey of men and women who have been able to make the mercy of God through concrete gestures of love and service.
Saint Joseph the Worker, along with the other saints remembered today, Friday, May 1st, shows us that holiness comes from small things lived with a big heart. Meditating on the saint of the day helps us recognize that mercy is the path that transforms everyday life into a gift, and invites us to follow his example in our own time.
TODAY'S GOSPEL
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 14,1-6
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions.
If not, I would never have told you:
“I go to prepare a place for you”? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
And where I am going you know the way."
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me."
Comments on today's Gospel
Commentary on the Gospel by Father Giordano Favillini
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
The ultimate destiny of our existence is not the nothingness of death, but Jesus promised that at the final moment of our earthly life He will come to take us. Our future is to be with Jesus forever.
