1. A new chapter of the project HIC SUM
The project HIC SUM di spazio + spadoni opens a new frontier in the heart of Asia with the launch of operations in East Timor, one of the youngest nations in the world.
At the heart of the initiative, coordinated by the charismatic Sister Ansila of the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Francis, there is the will to unite evangelization, hospitality and local development through the construction of a House of Opera M dedicated to pilgrims and migrants.
With the start of the urbanization works, the dream begins to take shape: it will be a physical and spiritual place, capable of concretely expressing the missione of mercy.
2. A home to welcome and serve
The project involves the construction of a structure intended to welcome pilgrims and migrants, a growing need in the context of East Timor, a land of transit and profound Christian spirituality.
La House of Opera M, as it will be officially called, will become a point of reference for those on a journey, but also a laboratory for training and sharing works of mercy.
The building, in addition to the hospitality spaces, will include areas dedicated to training, prayer and social promotion, encouraging the integration of activities missionairs and local realities.
3. A local and international support network
One of the pillars of the project's success is the synergy between local and international stakeholders. The central government of East Timor has provided valuable financial and logistical support, demonstrating attention and openness to initiatives capable of generating a positive impact in the most vulnerable communities.
Also fundamental is the support of the local parish, who made part of the land available and accompanied the Congregation in the initial phases of the project. The following are working alongside them with enthusiasm: volunteers Opera M local communities, already active in the field of catechesis and assistance to the poor.
To make universal brotherhood even more concrete, the contribution of the associations of Borgo a Mozzano, Italy, has been added, which have collected funds, materials and testimonies of support:
- The Misericordia of Borgo a Mozzano, which supported the first shipments of medical equipment;
- The Parish of San Jacopo, which organized solidarity events and fundraisers;
- The Giovanni Ansaldo Group has initiated a partnership between young Italians and young people from East Timor for cultural and educational activities.

The House of Opera M of East Timor will not only be a place of passage, but the operational center for the diffusion and daily practice of the works of mercy.The name chosen for the house aims to underline this vocation: a home that is a sign and instrument of lived mercy.
The spiritual and corporal works will be translated into concrete activities: welcoming pilgrims, healthcare, literacy, spiritual guidance, children's activities, and support for migrant families. It will be a place where charity becomes a method, a presence, and a witness.
