Sister Zitha’s social enterprise project has been temporarily suspended while awaiting completion of the other projects undertaken in Burundi with the Congregation and funded by spazio + spadoni. Once these are completed, Sister Zitha would like to establish a pig farm in her community.
Sister Zitha belongs to the Burundian congregation Suore Bene Mariya. Before her, four other sisters came to Italy to carry out one of spazio + spadoni’s projects. Her training took place in Umbria at Misericordia di Fossato di Vico. Shortly before returning, she also had the opportunity to spend a month at Misericordia di Otranto with Sister Assumpta, a fellow sister. Upon her return in February 2023, Sister Zitha spent a few weeks in Burundi before arriving, as planned, at her community in Kidahwe, Tanzania.
