The Confraternity of Mercy of Canosa di Puglia is a voluntary association that is part of the Confraternities of Mercy Movement, founded in 1244 in Florence by Pietro da Verona, later Saint Peter Martyr. Today the Confraternities of Mercy are present in Italy and abroad with over 700 Confraternities.

History
Since its establishment in July 2019, the Confraternity of Mercy of Canosa has been present in the local area and provides services in the social and health field, with a particular inclination toward Civil Protection activities during the years marked by Covid-19, which allowed it to receive the Civic Merit Award from the Municipality of Canosa di Puglia for the work carried out. With an active membership of about 60 members, it benefits from the presence of the G.eMMe (young people of the Confraternities of Mercy aged 18 to 30).
