Living fraternity and community in Christ

In today’s Gospel, August 12, 2026, the key word is “brother”. Ask yourself today: do you truly consider others brothers and sisters, especially those who have abandoned you, or those who do not share the same ideas? In Christ, we are all brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the same Father, our dear God. Our faith is not lived as isolated individuals, but in community. And the community of disciples of Jesus must be easily recognizable by certain signs: fraternity, respect, dialogue, mutual forgiveness.

Dialogue and reconciliation in the face of conflict

Therefore, if a community is founded on the insurmountable pillar of Jesus and His Gospel, all members will see the need for dialogue and listening, sharing dreams, ideas, and even constructive criticism, so that every single member contributes and never detaches, always seeking unity through forgiveness and reconciliation.

But it can happen that, despite good intentions, conflicts and tensions arise in a community. What should be done in these cases? Everything Jesus proposes points toward the salvation and full recovery of brothers and sisters, and the well-being of the community.

Especially in these difficult times, let us always be among those who build up, creating fraternal communities every day where forgiveness, charity, reconciliation, and understanding are the pillars. Let us work, then, so that all this does not remain merely on a theoretical level, but is effectively realized!
