Originally from Fiorano Modenese (Emilia Romagna), she is a Xaverian missionary. Currently, she serves the community of Cava de’ Tirreni, in Salerno; previously, the mission called her to Africa and Asia. She spent 14 years in Sierra Leone, 5 in China, and 12 in Thailand, where she worked as a physiotherapist. In 1995, she was involved in a 56-day kidnapping by RUF rebels.
