Sister Rhoda arrived in the Indonesian community in October 2025, where she serves as bursar at the Congregation’s nursery school. The social enterprise they would like to develop would take the form of agricultural activities that would help support the local community and, in part, the children attending the school as well. Due to a very serious bereavement that affected the Congregation, the start of the activities was delayed, but the determination to work together to establish the enterprise and the commitment to spreading the Works of Mercy remain firm.

The relationship between spazio + spadoni and the Congregazione delle Suore Carmelitane Missionarie di Santa Teresa di Gesù Bambino began to develop in July 2024, when Sister Zilda decided to take part in the course promoted in Rome by spazio + spadoni on the reEvolution of the Works of Mercy. By pure coincidence, a few weeks later, Stefano, the linker in Tanzania, introduced spazio + spadoni to Sister Flora, who belongs to the Carmelite Congregation and was determined to launch a project in her community. In the following months, the Congregation announced that Sister Flora would be transferred to Indonesia, so the project idea also moved from Africa to Asia. Relations between spazio + spadoni and the Congregation continued through both online meetings and meetings at the Mother House in Santa Marinella. In May 2025, it was announced that in July a sister, Sister Rhoda, who speaks Italian well, would come to Italy for a few weeks before moving to Indonesia, to the same community where Sister Flora would be. spazio + spadoni immediately seized the opportunity and, with the approval of the Superior General, invited Sister Rhoda to spend a few days gaining experience at the Associazione “Borgo Tutto è Vita”, which had come into contact with spazio + spadoni several months earlier through a collaboration developed with I Ricostruttori.

The collaboration between the Movement and the Institute continues through regular meetings at the Mother House and online.
