Sisters telling stories from the margins: journalism course for nuns

13 August 2026

Storytelling Course for Religious Sisters
The Dicastery for Communication offers the sisters a storytelling course to tell the stories of the realities they experience in their countries.

Discovering and telling stories that matter

I share the information received in the monthly newsletter of the Dicastery for Communication.

As part of the “Pentecost Project with and through Sisters”, the Dicastery for Communication offers religious sisters an online training opportunity with a special focus on journalism and storytelling, particularly dedicated to reporting on marginalized people and places and recognizing the signals of the future emerging from them.

The course – free of charge – will provide sisters with core skills to write articles and share stories from the margins of society using various media channels.

Meetings will be held in English. Upon request, simultaneous interpretation in another language can be provided.

Sisters who demonstrate greater competence and dedication will have the opportunity to be selected for an internship at Vatican Media, enabling them to further develop their skills in a professional setting.

For further information and to submit applications, a form available in 5 languages can be filled out (for sisters only):

  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Italian
  • Portuguese
