Sister Theresa’s community, and therefore the place where the social enterprise will also be developed, is located in Imo, in the Diocese of Ahiara, Nigeria. It is an area marked by great instability, which also affects priests and religious sisters and their activities. Nevertheless, in the hope of supporting the community and helping the local population, Sister Theresa and her Congregation presented three projects to spazio + spadoni: chicken farming, pig farming, and fish farming. After careful consideration of the projects’ feasibility, it was decided to develop a pig farm. At present, the enterprise has not yet started; the timeline has been somewhat extended due to an internal reorganization of the Congregation. Sister Theresa is a member of the Suore del Sacro Cuore di Gesù di Ragusa, with whom spazio + spadoni began a collaboration in May 2023 that continued in spring 2024 with the arrival of two sisters for a project in Madagascar. Sister Theresa arrived in Italy from Nigeria in February 2025 and was welcomed first by Misericordia di Adrano, which had also hosted the sisters from Madagascar, and then by Misericordia di Bompietro. Her experience in Italy was enriching not only in terms of training but also in terms of human relationships—bonds that were formed and remain alive despite the distance.

On June 24, 2025, an agreement was signed between spazio + spadoni and the Bishop of the Diocese of Ahiara, Most Rev. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, to establish an OPERA M center in the diocese and consequently develop a structured initiative aimed at spreading the Works of Mercy.
