OPERA M is the revolution of the works of mercy. It is the permanent instrument for developing strong and renewed thinking about the works around the world.
It arose from a need deeply felt by spazio + spadoni to rEvolutionise the concept of a work of mercy as a journey that is always human and divine at the same time and, therefore, always spiritual as well as practical (or corporal). The rediscovery, indeed, the true rEvolution of the works must be found within this synthesis of the spiritual dimension and practical action. Material action must always be permeated by the spirit.
OPERA M is based on five actions that define its method: INVOKE, call upon the Spirit LISTEN, be silent to open yourself to listening MEET, be among the people LET US ACT, act for the works LET US FLOOD, let us bring everyone to the Works of Mercy Spiritual Works of Mercy Counsel the doubtful Instruct the ignorant Admonish sinners Comfort the afflicted Forgive offences Bear patiently with troublesome people Pray to God for the living and the dead Corporal Works of Mercy Feed the hungry Give drink to the thirsty Clothe the naked Shelter pilgrims Visit the sick Visit prisoners Bury the dead

30 November | Start of training
Lazzarino, the lay missionary, begins his training period at the Misericordia di Pian di Coreglia, in the province of Lucca. Due to problems related to the pandemic, he will continue his training at the Misericordia di Marlia
November and December | Training
From November 2020 to April 2021, Lazzarino focused all his training on learning the charism of volunteering typical of the Italian Misericordie, the Works of Mercy, and the mission of spazio + spadoni and OPERA M. In addition, he explored some technical aspects of the HIC SUM project and studied first-aid techniques in greater depth.

15 July | Lay missionary’s departure
Lazzarino arrives in Sago, Côte d’Ivoire, in the community of the Sorelle di Santa Gemma
07 October | Lay missionary’s return
Lazzarino returns to Italy

June | Motto of spazio + spadoni
The Mother General's presence in Sago provides an opportunity to introduce the members of spazio + spadoni to the Movement’s motto "God's mercy is at work… Always!"
November | Members of spazio + spadoni
The members of spazio + spadoni, together with Selene, who is in Sago for a month, meet as they do every week and live out the Works of Mercy in the village through the community's apostolate

07 January | Plaque of spazio + spadoni
The installation of the OPERA M plaque is a distinctive sign of the Congregation's commitment and that of all the members of spazio + spadoni in Sago to spreading the Works of Mercy, making them known and practising them through the community's apostolate
