Sister Devotha was initially expected to work in poultry farming in Lekirimuni. During her stay in Roccasecca, she focused her theoretical and practical training on this area, also drawing on external experts. When she returned to Tanzania, spazio + spadoni invested in building the chicken coop, which will be managed by another sister. Sister Devotha will continue working to spread the Works of Mercy in Dar es Salaam, where she has been transferred.

Sister Devotha, who arrived in Italy with another sister in November 2021, completed her training period at the Misericordia di Roccasecca in Lazio. In April 2022, she returned to Lekirimuni, Tanzania, to the mission of her congregation, the Holy Spirit Sisters. The community is located in a very remote area, far from the city of Moshi, in Siha District. The local people are extremely poor and, because of their circumstances and the dry, arid environment, often eat only one meal a day. The adults are physically very weak and have health problems, while the children do not attend school because they have to care for livestock. The Holy Spirit Sisters work at the health center, where they treat local people and often provide free medication. They also teach religion to catechumens, counsel people living with HIV, visit the sick, and organize seminars and women’s groups. One of the problems the sisters face is the lack of water, which is not always available; they sometimes go without it for up to three days. During 2023, Sister Devotha is transferred to Dar es Salaam.
