Sister Milia returned to her community in Kerege, Tanzania, in January 2024. The social enterprise funded by spazio + spadoni will result in the establishment of a chicken coop; for this purpose, Sister Milia underwent extensive training in Italy.

Sister Milia’s project follows another project carried out with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Mombasa, specifically with Sister Joan.

This HIC SUM project was the first whose main participant came not from a voluntary association but from a Parish Community, Sant’Eugenio, in the Archdiocese of Lucca.

Both the parish priest, Father Emanuele, and the entire community welcomed Sister Milia like a true family. During her time in Italy, Sister Milia stayed in a parish apartment shared with a Syrian family consisting of a mother, grandmother and a child of about ten. This intercultural coexistence, which had previously been agreed with the Congregation’s Mother General, added value to the sister’s experience.
